Great to see The Picture House open seven days a week and all the extra shows. However, when I attended the lunchtime showing today of "Tinker-bell and the Pirate Fairy" with my two grandchildren, the auditorium was perishing cold. Hopefully the heating can be improved, otherwise it may discourage families from attending future performances.

***AUTISM FRIENDLY SCREENINGS***

We’d like to introduce Autism Friendly Screenings regularly at The Picture House, if there’s enough support.

Some people with autism are sensitive to sound and light and they can find going to the cinema anxiety-provoking. It is often difficult for them to sit still for a long period of time and they may need to move around during the film or make a noise.

It can be a great way to bring people back to the cinema and after a period of time these customers sometimes feel comfortable enough to start attending mainstream screenings too.

In an autism-friendly screening the screen lights are kept brighter, the sound volume reduced, there are no trailers and customers are free to move around the screen during the show.

We'll be Showing RIO 2 (U) in 2D at 16.00 on Sunday 27th April and if there is enough support we can make this the first Autism Friendly Screening. Tickets will be priced at £1.95 each for this screening
