On behalf of Explore Campbeltown we would like to thank everyone who got involved in the market - either by having a stall there on the day, helping with preparations in the Malt Barns, entertaining the crowds with music or just coming along and showing support. We had a total of 46 stalls present and everyone involved was amazed at the number of locals and visitors who turned up in their hundreds to enjoy the day. It was great to see so many different businesses under one roof and truly celebrate what we have to offer as a community.
There was a great buzz around the place and everyone certainly seemed to be getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s a great venue for this type of event and we are very lucky to have it available to us.
We have been overwhelmed with the feedback on both the Explore Campbeltown Facebook page and via email and we haven’t received one negative comment so far. Many stall holders have commented that they have had to place new orders to ensure they have more stock in before Christmas as their products sold so well! All the money spent on the day is being fed back into the local economy which is such an important factor for a small town in todays financial climate.
There have been numerous enquiries about whether it will happen again next year and I think it’s safe to say that after this years success, it will definitely be repeated and will be even bigger and better!!
