I know that Tighnabruiach isn't quite in Kintyre, but hope you can forgive me that as it is only 5/10 minutes away once you get off the Portavadie ferry! Fantastic community owned forest project, run by a really hard working group of volunteers and staff which always has a great buzz around it and cracking views as well :D

Event: Kilfinan Community Forest’s ‘Tree to Table’ Forest Celebration Day
At: Kilfinan Community Forest, Tighnabruaich, Argyll PA21 2BD
On: 30th July 2011
Between: 12pm and 5pm

Fun, Informative Family Event – forestry crafts, chainsaw carving, children's activities, Produce Market and performance by ‘The Walking Theatre Company’. FREE admission, refreshments available all afternoon.

The Kilfinan Community Forest's 'Tree to Table' Celebration Day will be a great day out for all the family!

Come and find out what it takes to get from 'Tree' to 'Table' with fun and informative demonstrations of forestry crafts such as felling and milling, chainsaw carving by Andy MacLachlin, children’s activities, a Local Produce Market, lots of delicious food and refreshments and a fantastic performance and cooking demonstration by The Walking Theatre Company with a spiffing WW2 theme!

With FREE admission, lots to see and do and the official opening of the stunning new Community Allotments by Michael Russell, MSP for Argyll and Bute, we hope you'll come and join us for this special day out in the forest!
