Grammar School Prize-giving Wed. 22 June

Former Olympic and Commonwealth Games hammer thrower Shirley Webb, also known as the Gladiator 'Battleaxe', will be at the Grammar School prize-giving in the Lorne and Lowland Church on Wednesday night (22 June) to unveil the Scottish mascot for London 2012, designed by a pupil of the school, and to present the pupil with an award. Details of mascot etc still 'embargoed'. Principal Guest of Honour is former pupil Professor Ron Roberts and there will be musical items as well as the speeches and presentation of awards. The event starts at 7.00 pm and all are welcome.

That is great news but why does Scotland have a mascot for the Olympics when it will be team GB? Perhaps the Commonwealth Games 2014 mascot?

even my sons (pupils) agreed with me.
