Hi Everyone
I am posting this up for The Kintyre Cultural Forum who are running a fundraising Comedy Night towards a new arts cultural centre in Campbeltown.
The Kintyre Cultural Forum are delighted to announce that well known comedian Arthur Smith will play at a fundraising Comedy Night in the Victoria Hall, Campbeltown on Friday July 22nd. Arthur will appear at this fundraising event towards the creation of a new Arts Cultural Centre in Campbeltown as part of his Arthur Smith Exposed tour, local comedian Kerrie Ross will MC the night.
Comedian Arthur Smith is an Edinburgh Festival stalwart and regular on the TV series, 'Grumpy Old Men'. He has become one of comedy's elder statesmen: an Edinburgh Fringe stalwart and a club compere since the early days of the alternative scene, he still uses many of the same gags today.
He's also become a regular on Radios 2 and 4, appeared in the sitcom Red Dwarf and has regular slots on the One Show and QI.
His comedy is best described as observational comedy with a strong flavour of the absurd, although he is an expert at delivering one liners. Expect an evening of sublime playfulness, crammed with jokes, anecdotes, short stories, poems, songs and readings. His stand-up topics range from vigorous yodeling to mediaeval literature via death by drink. His delivery is relaxed and sardonic, but his shows are a surprising, dark and witty treat.
The KCF would like to thank the Ardshiel Hotel for sponsoring the accommodation for the event.
Tickets costing £12 are now on sale from AP Taylors, Main Street, Campbeltown and on-line at http://www.ticketweb.co.uk or phone 08444 771 000, for more details email kintyreculturalforum@hotmail.co.uk Please note this event is licensed, anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult and some of the material is not suitable for under 14s.
