Here (in the US), we're hearing the term 'backyard vacation' quite a lot lately. This would mean 'vacations' locally - within your city, state or neighboring states - but also literally includes your backyard as an option!! Setting up a 'summer oasis' & imagining it to be some place exotic :| :lol:
Hey, you can even go one step further & pack bags, load up the car & kids then drive around the block...&..."we're here!!"

‘Staycation' is a word that has come into use recently and you won't find it yet in the dictionary. It's a combination of Stay and Vacation and it has been used a lot in the media in the UK over the summer to describe the trend of British residents to stay closer to home, rather than holiday abroad.
