Things to do in Glasgow

Postby Kevin Mc » Wed Jul 25, 2012 2:40 pm

Further to this thread - can anyone recommend anything to do in Glasgow?

We'll be there Saturday and Sunday night before coming down to Campbeltown for a few days. We have two boys aged 13 and 15 - would the Science Centre be good for that age range? Not sure if that's aimed at younger kids.

We're planning on going to the Transport Museum as that's close to where we're staying. Hopefully take a bus tour and river cruise if there are any to be had.

Kevin,

If you are close to the Transport Musueum then you won't be far away from The Science Centre either. Its an interesting place and not sure what age group it suits best. Went with a 6 year old and didn't feel he was old enough to enjoy alot of it. It can be pricey too but if you get along and go to the shows they put on then you'll feel you get more for your money. Transport Museum is good but thought it was better when it was in the Kelvin Hall.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum I would say is a must and best of all it is completely free. So if you go on one of the bus tours jump off their and enjoy.

If you've got a car (or you can get a bus) Xscape at Braehead is perhaps worth a visit.

Cinemas are good to do too.

Whatever you do, don't let you wife near the shops!
