Hi, from Corpus Christi, Texas on the Gulf Coast.
I am retired U.S. Navy and lived at the RAF base in Cnoc Moy Gardens MOD housing at Machrihanish from Nov 1975 until Nov 1979. I threw darts on the Lochend team in those years.
Planning on a visit to Campbeltown this summer. Plan to get a round or two of golf in at Machrihanish. It's been a long time since I played there but I can remember the burn and Lossit holes. I can't wait to see the sights again and hope to maybe renew some old friendships.

Hello Eilidh,
If you are still in sunny Auckland , then I can recommend a great little bring your own wine resturant called '' The Angus Steak House ''.
It was half way up the hill of the main street from the harbour.
Hope it is still there and you enjoy your travels
All the best

Thanks for that Frosty, yip I am still in Auckland, going to be here for at least another week then heading back down to Hawkes Bay area. Been out to a few restaurants here, I will look out for that one and let you know if I go. Maybe you have hit on a good idea for a new section, recomendations for places to go when people are travelling. Just having a bbq tonight its too hot to be indoors, its a hard life!!! :D
