Hello all.

Taken some time off posting for a while since moving to Sunny  Pori. Image

Kept up with most of the news in town through the forum. Actually kept my mum up to date most of the time and she still lives there

Anyway, just thought i would say hello again. Will take the bike out later and get some pics and post them in the photos from around the world section. be warned though, lots of snow and ice just now

Ps. if you refresh the page it will change to the last live image :<>

Everything here is great (except the friggin language  )

I live within jumping distance of the market square in webcam. Cycle everywhere i need to go (no hills here :<> )

Everything is a bit more expensive but the quality of life makes up for it. The police stay in the station most of the time. Average temp since the turn of the year is -3, and its not that bad, but just waiting for the -15 average to kick in

Hi,

I am putting up a new thread about developing a family history centre / Gaelic centre in Campbeltown. Would you use it? If so how would you use it? In person...virtually by computer ..etc. What would you look for?

Cheers

Hello all from Virginia, United States. Lived in Campbeltown from 83 - 85. My second son (David) was born there and I hope to bring him back to see this place he has heard so much about throughout his life. If all goes well, we will be visiting either this coming November 2009 or July 2010. I know the RAF base is now closed, what has happened to that area? Can anyone tell me? Also, I worked for a short time at the Barrell Inn on the base, ex-husband actually helped to rebuild it. Can anyone tell me if the Five-Jays Florist is still around, at least I think that was what it was called. I would love to find Jennifer, she was one of the 5 daughters from the family who owned that florist, I believe they also had a bed and breakfast. Jennifer would occasionally babysit for my sons. Also, one last thought, any recommendations as to where to stay when we visit? Thanks to all.
