Saying hello

I've just accepted a job at the hospital in Campbeltown and I hope me and my family will be moving up during the summer. We have two kids - a 10 year old boy and a 7 year old girl - who will be desperate to make friends and find things to do. I'd love to make some links with local people before we arrive as we've no links to the area beyond a love for the sea and wildlife.

Any local advice, or just a friendly wave, would be so much appreciated!

Hello Charlotte,
family matters have kept me away from the Forum these last few months, may I wish you a belated welcome to the forum. I hope by now you have settled in, and you and your children have made some friends, and I hope you are enjoying working at the hospital. I live in South Yorkshire but was born in Campbeltown, my sister (born in Yorkshire) moved to Campbeltown several years ago and would not leave the "Wee Toon" for a pension, and yes I am "Jealous" of her. I am sure over time you will come to love the place as much as I (and many other) do, I wish you and your family all the very best on your move to a great place.
