Hello lovely folk of kintyre.

wife and i are moving to kintyre mid april....very excited but a bit scared. just accepted a job offer this evening. we're lookjng forward to this as a new adventure. we enjoy the outdoors, sport (surfing, netball, rugby, shinty, canoeing , walking, running). Want to get involved with the local community and become part of the local scene. Any tips, advice about whats kn, where, why etc.

Just back from two days looking around, great sunsets, wildlife, range of habitats, beaches, hills, woods, forests etc......friendly and helpful folk...amazing public transport ( better than where we live now anyway).

not sure at moment. Lot of things still up in the air to make a real firm call on location and a have potential job opportunity for my wife (which may include accomodation) to follow up so don't really want to jinx that...but i'll be based in campbeltown, we like carradale, tarbert and the west coast...anywhere seems good.

Hope the move goes well - Kintyre is an enchanted part of Scotland. I adore the west coast beaches, particularly A'Chleit - was baptised and married in the kirk at A'Chleit.

wow !!!!! what a beautiful place to move to, we have been going to carridale and peninver for over 18 years and we tend to go 4 times a year , hopefully one day we intend to move there when our family have flown the nest and we could find a job for my husband up there , think i could move my business and make it work . Today we have arrived home after spending 8 glorgeous days in peninver and we were lucky with the weather, the locals are so friendly and helpful .good luck with your move and new life .
