Meadows and Kinloch Park. Yes both are public parks but that doesn't mean organised games or training should go ahead without booking the park. It gives the Council a bit of knowledge of who and when it is being used and if they should advise the group to cancel.
The main problem really is organised games going ahead where the park is not booked and leaving the pitch unplayable for other groups.

Couldn't agree more and more comments are welcome. Argyll & Bute Council don't exactly help the issue themselves. We have been arguing for the use of portable goal posts etc for the last few years. Other areas like Oban, Dunoon, Rothesay all have ground staff who insert the goals prior to the games and remove afterwards etc. ABC are carrying out a Playing Field Strategy so would be good to ensure all issues in Campbeltown are covered.
Nobody wants to see informal kick abouts banished but we want to see responsible use of the parks. Again it was previously raised with the Council that we should have a dedicated park(s) for kick abouts etc.
From experience the Council don't listen but we are looking to hold a meeting with them for all interested parties and ensure something is achieved.
From the All Weather Pitch perspective if all official games are booked it gives us more clout to argue the need for one here by demonstrating the level of football in Campbeltown. It also allows us to make arguments about how the exisiting pitches should be organised too.
