Campbeltowns Donna Robertson has been selected in the British womans Judo team which is taking part in a World Championship warm up in Germany this weekend.

Donna who now lives in Hamilton,is competing in Braunschweig in the last championship, which takes place in Vairo, Egypt, from Sep 8th to 11th. Donna competes in the under 48kg section. Her sister Fiona did not make the team as she has been out for the last few months due to injury.

We wish Donna all the best from her family in the wee toon.

Donna and the rest of the squad didnt have a good warm up ,but the team is all set for the world championships in Egypt. Other countrys used Germany as a warm up so the standard was first class.........

I might be wrong but I think I just caught a wee short glimpse of either Donna or Fiona on BBC news, with Jack McConnel and others, at the launch of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bid.

Yes John you were right Donna was on the tv this morning on BBC News. We didn't see her, it was my dad that phoned tonight to tell us. As far as i can gather it wasn't recent coverage, it was from after the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
