Safeguarding Children in Sport Workshop - 19th Dec - C'Town

Postby Sport » Fri Dec 07, 2007 11:20 pm

I meant to post this earlier in the week but a really good opportunity for anyone involved in any sporting club in the area which involves children.

South Kintyre Sports Council would urge members to attend this course which is FREE to members.

Safeguarding Children in Sport Workshop

Member clubs and individuals of South Kintyre Sports Council are being encouraged to attend the Safeguarding Children in Sports Workshop arranged by Argyll & Bute Council on Wednesday 19th December 2007.

The workshop starts at 6.30pm in the conference room of Aqualibrium from 6.30pm and will be delivered by a UKSport Registered. The workshop will last just over 2 hours and will result in attendees receiving a CPD certificate along with high quality workbooks and handouts. This is an important opportunity for Sports clubs in South Kintyre to learn more about Child Protection which is vital to both children and volunteers alike.

The cost of the workshop is normally £25 per person attending but is free to any member of a South Kintyre Sports Council affiliated sports club. A spokeswoman for the Sports Council said “It is vital for clubs to understand and recognise Child Protection issues within their organization and we would encourage all coaches involved with children to attend this course to maximize awareness”

Application forms are available from Argyll & Bute Council by phoning 01631 572189 or by e-mail at jennifer.matheson@argyll-bute.gov.uk . Alternatively a form can be downloaded from the Sports Council website at www.southkintyresportscouncil.com
