Well done Shirley

Postby Stronvaar » Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:51 pm

The Scottish Women's Bowling Association Dumbartonshire and West Argyll District semi-finals and finals were held in Clydebank Bowling Club today. The town was well repesented by the Senior Four from the Argyll club skipped by Kate McNair with Moira Graham as third, and Nancy McRae and Cathy McPhee, the four of skip Ann Colville, Jean Miller, Mairi MacDonald and Ria Johnston form Stronvaar and Shirley Bannatyne also Stronvaar in the singles. Unfortunately, Ann's team lost in their semi-final and Kate's team lost by a single shot to their opponents from Ardrishaig (at least they are from Argyll and best wishes to them).

Shirley, a great ambassador for the club and also Campbeltown, however, won her match and has qualified for the national finals at the national centre for bowls at Ayr Northfield in July. It wil be difficult to progress but Shirley has the ability to do so and we wish her every success.
