Greenock Morton visit Kintyre Park on Wednesday 11th July to play the local Campbeltown Pupils in a pre-season friendly fixture. The match has been arranged to celebrate the history of football in 'the Wee Toon,' an acknowledgement of 'the Beautiful Game' we all know and love. This will be marked by an exhibition in Campbeltown Museum, a walk through the history of the sport in our small community. The exhibition will run for six months, culminating in the release of a book called 'Kit and Caboodle' by Alex McKinven.
The match will provide the local club with an opportunity to raise funds in support of further renovation work at Kintyre Park. This will take the shape of a new roof for the existing pavilion, and the upgrade of showering facilities etc. The match, which will have a 6pm early evening kick-off, has an entry fee of £4 for adults and £1 for minors.
The exhibition is free of charge.
