New Champion Crowned at Machrihanish Golf Club
David Graham of Machrihanish was crowned the Club Champion following four consistent rounds of golf over consecutive weekends. The local lad kept his nerve on Saturday 9th June to win the prestigious Club Championship after taking a 7 stroke lead from the previous weekend into the final two rounds. Having shot a 71 and 69 the first weekend young Graham maintained his cool to fend of the challenge of the 2011 Champion Jordan Grant with two final rounds of 73 to finish with a combined score of 286 for his four rounds. Grant picked up runner up spot as he clawed back a few strokes with a final score of 290, following by Oliver Armour and George McMillan who finished 294 and 298 respectively.
In the Senior Championship Colin Lang took the honours over Brian Findlay by one stroke with a combined score of 157 over the two rounds.
Andrew Wallace won the Junior Championship and the Malcolm Lang Trophy with a fine net score of 142 for his two rounds as the youngster from Campbeltown continues his fine form this season.
Stuart Campbell showed exactly why he has won the Club Championship in the past with a fine closing two rounds of 71 and 72 Gross to pick up the Robert Ballantyne trophy with his net score of 69 and 70, 139.
