Campbeltown Cricket Club

Postby Sport » Wed Apr 13, 2005 4:37 pm

I alos got this from Ricky in his e-mail:-

With regards to the cricket we have been asked to join
a Argyll and Bute league this summer. Teams from Mid
argyll, Oban, Rothesay, Innellan, Arran and Cairndow
will be taking part but again after an initial meeting
the interest in a team from here isn't brilliant. We
are having another meeting on the 20th of April to see
whether we will be able to muster a team for this
year.

Surely the toon can muster up a team?

Cricket Training

Postby rick_ford55 » Tue May 17, 2005 1:06 pm

Oorly don't quite know wit the picnic thing is aw aboot but the first training session for the cricket went pretty well. 11 people turned up which is pretty good considering some of the attitudes towards the game in the toon. I agree with others that it would be a shame if Campbeltown can't get 11 players to play in the A and B league, if the likes of Cairndow and Inellan can manage a team surely C/town can muster a team? The training sessions are every Monday night at 7pm at the grammar school so if you wanna get a little fitter or just wanna give cricket a try come along!
