Campbeltonian playing for Chelsea's first team

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Sat Oct 02, 2010 11:29 am

Very interesting to read last night that John 'Jonah' McEachran from Campbeltown conntacted the Campbeltown Courier to highlight his grandson, Josh McEachran, is now playing for the Chelsea first team having recently made his competitive first team debut for Chelsea against MŠK Žilina on 15 September 2010 as a substitute, thereby becoming the first player to be born after the UEFA Champions League started on 25 November 1992 to take part in the competition.

Josh was born in Oxford to Mark and Julie, who have 4 other children, and attented Malborough School in. He began playing football for Garden City F.C. in the Oxford Mail Boys League, where he was spotted by a Chelsea scout. He then joined the Blues as an academy player at the tender age of 8 where he has remained.

John recently made his home debut in Chelsea's Carling Cup game with Newcastle United, where he again came on as a substitute, and made his Premier League debut on 25 September in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City replacing Ramires,

Around September 2010, while he has been a target transfer to Championship clubs, Ancelotti declared he will not be loaned or transferred into another club.

Josh's proud grandfather was born in Park Square in Campbeltown where he stayed for many years before leaving Campbeltown.

Anyone know Josh's local connections? Plenty of McEachran's in the town! 8)
