Pupils and Boys Amalgamate

Postby Mack » Mon Jul 12, 2010 1:26 pm

Both clubs wish to announce an amalgamation of resources as they now move forward as one club. The more historic Campbeltown Pupils name will be retained, with the first team playing in the SAFL Premier Division One and the 'B' squad competing in non-Premier Division Three. The amalgamation is the ideal mechanism for the development of football in Campbeltown, a graded system that will allow a gradual progress from youth/local football through to the SAFL Premier section.

One club, one ambition, one Campbeltown!

Pupils - Boys Merger

Postby joe_ruesgen » Mon Jul 12, 2010 6:38 pm

Just read the news there that the Pupils and the Boys are going to be merging as one club. Glad to hear this and will hopefully lead to a stronger team, larger numbers at training, and an overall improvement in the club's footballing fortunes. Good luck to all!

Just curious aswell, but who will be in charge of coaching, picking the team, etc.? Would players that impress in the 'B' league be allowed to 'transfer' up to the full team to play games for them should they be struggling with injuries, work commitments, etc.?

Joe,

Players will be registered under Campbeltown Pupils AFC meaning that they, like other clubs with A and B teams, will be able to choose players to play for either the A or B team.

Great news for Campbeltown!
