Hello Walkers,

The February 1st Church walk is Killeonan to Glenramskill, to be led by Dugald McKendrick. This is approximately 5-6 miles over moorland, maybe some boggy areas, and with a stop at the Black Lock for lunch.

Meet as usual at 11.00 in the Church Car Park, arrange transport. Please bring packed lunch, waterproofs, and sticks (optional). Walking boots essential.

Regards,

John and Marion

Hello Everybody,

Kathleen McGougan is unable to lead the walk on March 1st, and in view of the recent weather, and discussion with other walkers, it has been decided to change the walk to Lussa Loch.

Meet as usual in the Church car park at 11 o'clock, arrange transport. Park at the green hut for the start of our walk.

Please bring packed lunch, waterproofs, sensible walking footwear, sticks optional.

All best,

John and Marion

Hello Everybody,

Kathleen McGougan has kindly arranged for us to use a room in the New Hall at the Lorne and Lowland Church, on Wednesday 19th March, at 7.30 p.m., to arrange our walking programme for 2014-2015. Please come along and bring any ideas/suggestions for the walks. If you are unable to make the meeting, but have suggestions, please e-mail them to us, or pass them on to someone who will be attending the meeting.

Regards,

John and Marion

Hello Everybody,

The walk for April is at Carradale, and will be led by Matthew Ramsay. Meet at the church car park for 11.00, arrange transport, and meet Matthew at Portnastorm car park 11.30'ish. From there we go to Carradale Bay, then walk out to Carradale Point on to goat island to see the vitrified fort. Stop for lunch. We then walk back above the route we took on the way out, which is a path, come back along the bay to the caravan park and complete the circuit back to Portnastorm car park.

This walk is approx. 5 miles, and starts off on grass, followed by sand along the beach, and then by road.

Please bring packed lunch, waterproofs, sensible footwear, and a stick if you feel it necessary.

Matthew has said that if this is unsuitable due to weather, he will ask the laird of Torrisdale estate if we could walk there if need be.

Unfortunately John and I will be away, so enjoy the walk (which we're sad to be missing), and we'll see you in May.

Regards,

John and Marion
