That sure is one hell of a moat... Not sure if it is true, but apparently when they were digging the moat there was confusion in the drawings, the builders were operating with the new fangled imperial measurements and the Irish groundwork contractors were still using the old chains and cubits.. Sort of cock-up you woud expect the council planning dept to notice...
