Islay Airport Airshow/open day

Postby Buzz Lightyear » Fri Aug 24, 2007 9:31 pm

spent last weekend in Islay helping to run the airshow that they do every year.

It has been running now for ten years & is funded by the Museum of Islay life with various charities from the island benefiting on the day.
Saturday was dreech to say the least but Sunday cleared up & was bright & sunny.

55 aircraft attended the event from military aircraft to wwII aircraft. 6 aircraft did aerobatic displays & parachuting by the Strathallen parachuters from Perth.

RAF Aldergrove Puma helicopter was a popular attraction & was first to arrive on Sunday.
