Campbeltown Loch.

Pictures taken this morning (Fri 6th Oct) with my small pocket camera, just after eight o'clock. Standing at Dalitober watching the sun starting to rise from behind Davaar Island. A blaze of sunshine filling the loch for a short time before it dulled over again.

JD, Can you email the 3rd and 4th pics to me full size please? I'll see what I can do with them? If of a decent size, they are certainly frameable. Looks like you had a decent tripod ??????????

You are right about that, Ticketty, especially the last one. Gorgeous.

Sunrise from Carradale.

Postby jdcarra » Thu Nov 02, 2006 4:19 pm

November came in with two magnificient morning sunrises with some of these pictures taken from Dippen Hill and Torrisdale. First white frost of the year today and extremely cold. Not the best of pics but some view to see early in the morning.

Sun breaking behind Arran with Carradale Point to the left.

Doubly-surprising really, because most people didn't think he ever got up that early. :)

Great photos, JD. We missed you on Monday night.

Early morning sunrise from Carradale.

With regards to the colour differential, I also have photos of morning skies which are different from those in the photo and also yours too. Just two weeks ago I got some pics in the morning of sea and sky and the whole lot were a beauitful golden hue!!

I have seen a similar photo by the same guy as posted the one this week, and it's different also

Do you think he is a member of a camera club or something and is using filters and computer enhancement techniques

Or am I reading more into your finishing line than you meant :?:

Pete Reek's quote from pic of the week Leslie McGeachys www.visitkintyre.info/index.htm

Pete, I cannot say if was a member of the camera club, but there has been some spectacular colour variations of the sky over the past year. Below is sunrise from my home taken on the 23rd Jan this year looking across to the south end of Arran. There is roughly a minute between the first and last shot which i zoomed in a bit.If you lighten pics you will see more outline of land. I have some other sky shots that i will post, they won't win any prizes, but the colours are great 8)

Love the pics JD. The colour variations as you say are quite stunning at times. On thinking back to when I was a boy (only 24 years ago certainly) I just don't remember such a broad spectrum of colour in sunrises or sunsets.

Could this be a result of global warming?

If it is, then it's the only good thing to come out of it.

Keep the photos coming. The ones of Southend may give 4th Gen a red neck ( as opposed to his usual brass wan) and push him into updating his own Southend thingy. :D
