Its the largest in the small group of islands just south east of Southend, remember
staying in the old farm house in 1988 for a weekend, this was prior to the resort it
is now, a magical place.

I was on Sanda in May and the restaurant had just closed as the chef had left. Have checked the website and it looks as though there might be another chef. Was the restaurant open when you were there? I will definitely go back - thought it was just fantastic.

Yes, the restaurant was still there. This was just before the fire and when the island was sold.

From what I could see of what people were having (we were in for a quick cup of tea), the food looked lovely.

Although we didn't eat in the restaurant during our visit, we did go in for a coffee and the food being served to other people looked good.

Here's a few shots from the same day, What? :

Is Sanda easy to get to? The restaurant looks to be well beyond our means, but I`d love to go for a few hours look around and take a picnic.

You can get there via Kintyre Sea Tours, at least that's how we did it. The ride alone is worth
the fare of £20! The boat leaves from the marina in Campbeltown and the journey takes
about thirty minutes.
