Handicapping/Predicted times

The Handicapping/predicted times will be taken from races of 10k/5k within the last 12 months

If one does not have a recent 10k/5k time,then a scatch time will be given and your fisrt race time will be used for the next handicap race

Handicap/predicted times are subject to change.

Scoring

All runners will be awarded 8 points for turning up and racing

Age related points will be awarded as follows
50yrs = 5pts
40yrs = 4pts
30yrs = 3pts
20yrs = 2pts

Points will be awarded by the number of runners at each event,ie 14 runners = 1st place 14points, 2nd place =13pts and so on

Winners will be the Male or Female who accumulates the highest number of points

Please feel free to point out any concerns or ask any questions regarding any of the races/handicap etc.

This is a low key event and hopefully fun and inspiring to improve your racing and running ability.

I will ask for some help if the numbers swell,but other than that l should cope.

It is open to all Campbeltown runners.

Thanks

Why 8 points for turning up Donald?, so for instance if I turn up and run and come in last I will get 8+5+1 points. Is that right?

Say you won the first race and you pointage was 8 + 5 +14 = 27pts and you could not be bothered to run the next race then the people that did, and were a few points behind you, and maybe not as improved as you have, then would over take you on pointage with the help of the 8 points.

It stops the prima donas running away with it.

Hope thats answered your question

I will go in for it as well. The June event might be a problem but I'll be needing the points so will do my best to be there.

But my current level of fitness is nowhere near that which gained my most recent 10k time....I will need at least 3 extra mins!
Can I make an honest guestimate?

I like the idea of the mass finish!
