Hi Sid Kareen here not sure if Fiona mentioned that Coxy would help out marshalling for the Kintyre way relay. Just give him a shout.

It is mostly straight forward. There is one tricky bit along the shore from Waterfoot then coming off the shore just before Torrisdale. I plan to contact Rob Reid and make sure that the point of departure from the shore is well marked. I got a bit lost there despite recceing it the week before with Jane. She and I ended yup climbing round on some rocks. Not necessary  , completely off route. :? The section from Torrisdale to Saddell forest track is on the Road!! And really hilly (Lots of walking!) :(

But its worth it. :D

Who will be doing those bits? I can go over it on the map with them if you like. :)

It will be great.

It may be me sid as ive opted to do the largest chunk of 15 miles  being team leader n all thought i should lead the way  no im speaking guff, the largest chunk is tayinloan to brackley 15 miles so that will be me, then there's a killer 6 from brackley to carradale and then 14 from carradale to campbeltown :D which chunk are you describing as i think its changed slightly since last year :D

I did from the forestry car park near brackley to Campbeltown. The bit I got lost on (briefly) :D Was the coastal bit from Carradale (Waterfoot) to Torrisdale. It is also a bit rough under foot with some rocks to scamble over. :)
Nice.

The forest track from Saddell to campbeltown is OK but there is a small potential for getting lost.

Happy running :D

Sid & Co.
I'm available for any help on the Carradale sections, especially Waterfoot to Torrisdale for marking out the route and refreshment points etc.

Give me a call or pm if required.

Great Johnny. Has Rob Reid been in touch with you? can I send him your contact details? I will try to find out who else he has involved in carradale.

most of you will probably have realised after the last few weeks turnout at training that i dont have enough people to field two teams so thought it best to concentrate on the one. I have made the team up from those who have put in the most miles over the hills over the weeks with the group since we thought we could tackle the KWR.

Runner One: Matthew - 12 miles from Tarbert to Claonaig

Runner Two: Jocelyn - 10 miles from Claonaig to Clachan

Runner Three: Moira - 9 miles from Clachan to Tayinloan

Runner Four: Fiona - 15 miles from Tayinloan to Brackley

Runner Five: Darren - 6 miles from Brackley to Carradale

Runner Six: Francis - 14 miles from Carradale to Campbeltown

DJD has kindly offered to take us all over either chunk 2 or 3 on 11th so will keep you posted. :D

If one of us gets injured or has to pull out for any reason (which i do hope doesnt happen) it would be great to know we could knock on the door of some of you who have done some training with us??

I'd do it if you're desperate for someone to fill in through injury fiona. Although I've entered the 10k in lochgilphead the next day but it'd be a shame if yous would need to pull out. I'm sure yous will all be fine, only 4 weeks to go! Really enjoyed the 10 miles this morning but no big hills so I was happy!!

I'd be up for staying at 9 doing a flat-ish route if pans lass is up for it? Not so keen on the hills! Wouldn't mind a few though as I know it helps...
