Great to see that Mokrun is now so popular that entries are already being taken for 2011. However as the oldest female runner last year (we enjoyed the whisky!!) I don't think I could risk entering this early, especially as I have just sustained my first fairly serious running injury and don't know when I will be running again. So I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that there will be places left early next year and that I will be fit by then. Meanwhile, love and best wishes to all the friends we have met over the last 3 years of Mokrun.

Hello all. I have just been looking at entering the half marathon. I will be travelling up from Cheshire and spending a few days touring the isle. I will be travelling by Motorhome and wondered what the Isle is like for places to stop? Is parking on the day of the race likely to be a problem?

Thanks in anticipation

Panagah,

Firstly welcome to the Kintyre Forum :-)

I think you are getting the Mull of Kintyre mixed up with the island of Mull which lies off Oban further north of here on the west coast of Scotland? Campbeltown is located on the Kintyre Peninsula with the Mull of Kintyre the most southerly tip. See the map below

There are plenty of places to stop with a Motorhome and on the day of the race parking around the town shouldn't be a problem (try Kinloch Road where the Aqualibrium is).

I'd suggest you enter soon as 550 places were gone at the start of the weekend. (good coming from me who has still not entered!)

Make the trip, the drive alone is worth it.

Thanks for that, Now entered. I just missed the S of Isle  as we intend to do some isle-land hopping whilst there.
