Carradale

Postby robbiewillie » Fri Sep 04, 2009 10:33 pm

In doing some family research for my wife recently I have found that her grandfather James Templeton was Estate Overseer in the Carradale Estate around the turn of the last century

The family are listed in the 1901 census as living in "Carradale Lodge".

He had a wife Mary and daughter Jane and son Hugh (my father-in-law) although there were other family who had left home by then

Carradale Lodge was between "Carradale School House" (Teacher John Reid Mc Innes) and "Moneruadh" (Ann McIntosh)
I presume it was a house which was part of the Carradale Estate

I dont know how long the family were in Carradale although I know that they moved to Helensburgh

Can anyone tell me anything about Carradale at that time?

I would value any info which you could provide.
