Navy Seal Rescue

A customer of mine told me that when he was stationed at Machrihanish many years ago, some American Navy Seals were dropped in to the sea off Campbeltown as part of an exercise and had to be rescued by the Campbeltown lifeboat. Can any one verify this?

Their assault craft hit the reef just off Sanda at high speed, the craft was a Seafox design.
In typical style they concocted a drink in the Pipers Cave, "Seafox on the Rocks", to mark the incident, ingredients unknown!
Not only but also they totalled the replacement Seafox a while later, so there ye are now :?
