Eve's Pool

Postby craigard girl » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:20 pm

Hi there,

Does anyone remember a place called Eve's Pool. I think it was out by Knocknaha/Kilchrist. There was a waterfall and a lovely deep pool - ideal for a wee swim. I remember going there for picnics in the late '60's. If anyone can remember can you give me directions as I would love to take my own kids there. Thanks.

I remember it but we always called it Grace's pool (what that just a stewarton thing?) my dad took my daughter up last year but said it was hard to get near the pool as it was very over grown.

I wounder how many people learned to swim in that pool?

Theres one or two waterfalls right up to the Black Loch, I always
remember a former collegue of mine telling me that him and some
pals went up there one day to find a group of their teachers skinny dipping!
This was some time back in the 60's.

I've always known it as 'Grace's pool' and never heard of it being called Eve's pool before. Anyone know how it got it's name?

Went to Grace's pool today, so it's not too badly overgrown! I know exactly where it is as I live at Knocknaha. Not too sure about Eve's pool though.

Got some more photos at http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/loopkno/Graces%20Pool%20and%20Views/

To further complicate the issue, I have heard this location referred to as "Nancy's Pool". :?

I had never thought about it before, but wonder if this name has any connection to the Nancy who sold, and presumably made whisky at Stewarton Corner?

Thanks for all your replies. I've been away so only just got round to reading them. Thinking about it, Grace's Pool does ring a bell - don't know where I got Eve from ??!!

Can anyone give me directions on how to get to it? Thanks.
