Committee and Mangers of youth football 1988???

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Tue Jan 29, 2008 12:18 am

Having a guess this is 1988 - perhaps someone knows?

Anyone name any faces. What was the league officially called in these days?

The photo was taken on Sunday 12th December 1987 at the White Hart. Craig will be able to name them all and what teams they were helping with. I know nearly all of them

Not bad at 1988 then. 8)

Did you have that in your diary? Rooster is smiling - must have been when he was young, free and single.

linda you seem pretty certain it was December 1987 there and I'm sure your right but I seem to recall the year Murdo was down he was answering questions on the stage in the Vic and he seemed pretty sure that Celtic, with a decent lead at the time would win the title.

In the end they lost the lead to Rangers, which would imply it was not the 87/88 season when of course Celtic won the title. This photo might not be anything to do with the time Murdo was presenting the medals of course and he could have been down more than once.

That is beside the point though, it is a good photo and one my dad will enjoy seeing again. I know all but two - top second left and botton second right, which is not too bad. Next time I'm home I'll see if I can dig out some of the Glenside photos he has.

There are a lot of Crosshill/Meadows and Longrow conections in the photo but less so Calton, other than Rooster and Davie. Who had Davaar back then for instance?
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.
