Does anyone know of, or even better, have pictures of any local memorial plaques or Roll of Honour lists in CN.. I know there is one in the Longrow church and I am sure I have seen others but cant think where.. Any help would be appreciated...

two years ago the Museum Development Officer asked for pics of war memorials in Kintyre as she discovered that their were only a couple on record. This was for the exhibition that was in the Vic for the commemeration of the end of the 2nd WW.

Southend has the memorial and plaques in the church and there is also a memorial at Auchencorvie.

Very interesting background sooze ... but the Southend memorial is at Keprigan, not Auchencorvie ... wrong junction - easy mistake ;-)

Are these museum sponsored pictures now generally available? You would think these these resouces should be more widely - and electronically - available.

many thanks for pointing out for MG although quickly reading it could have caused the mistook.

I laid the wreath at Keprigan for the Community Council and have done for about 6 years so I do know about it.

No problem sooze!

I knew well, that you knew exactly where it was.

So we can both happily leave the humble pie to others - I can think of a few who need a good feed

Cheers

Pity you didn't stop at Auchencorvie JD.
If you get hungry, there's still a fair bit of that pie left. Seems nobody likes the taste :D
