I recall a tearoom in Longrow up near the church. It had large windows. It was where we went when we came to the town for our weekly visit and always had our meal there. Was it round about Cathie Thompson's? Not sure who owned it though!!

Am I that old that nobody else can recall that particular tearoom? I am still a few decades away from getting my telegram from the Queen.
If it is the Central Tearoom, I remember it well, but don't go far enough back to remember it as Mrs. Lavery's. When I knew it, the proprietor was Netta McLachlan. I used to go in there quite a lot, as Netta is my aunt. When she gave up the tearoom, she had Morton's shop in George Street for a good number of years before retiring in 1980.
