Photograph Album on ebay

"Photographs of antiquities from ancient civilizations which once dominated the regions now known Greece and Tunisia, intermixed with twentieth century war memories of an empathetic young Scottish nurse, this album presents, albeit parenthetically, a striking visual reminder of man's interminable cycle between strife and harmony, to conquer for power and trade for survival.
Gladys Margaret Mackinnon is from the small village of Clachan in North Kintyre. After attending Cheltenham Ladies College, Gladys received a certificate for nursing from the St. John Ambulance Association in London, March 1910. She joined the British Red Cross Society in London after passing her examination on 31 August 1914. During the Great War she volunteered in England. Gladys Margaret Mackinnon who died in 1973 at 84 yrs of age is buried in the Clachan Cemetery in Kintyre Peninsula, Argyll, Scotland.
She may be a relative (possibly a niece) of Scottish ship-owner Sir William Mackinnon (1823-1893), 1st Baronet of Loup and Balinakill, also resident of Clachan, who built up substantial commercial interests in India and East Africa, and who established the British-India Steam Navigation Company, as well as the Imperial British East Africa Company. He was Colonial Head of British East Africa, from 1887-1889 and was well acquainted with Henry Morton Stanley, being most instrumental in promoting and funding 1886 Emin Pasha Relief Expedition. He married Janet Colquhoun on 12 May 1856. They had no children. Further research is warranted to ascertain a family connection."
