Cnockmoras?

Has anyone heard of a place called Crockmoras in Southend parish? I've poured over my maps, but can't find it. Thanks.

Thanks for that info. I've also found a reference that says the place appears on the 1869 map. Now to find an 1869 map!

Cnock or Crock is often the anglised spelling of Cnoc, as in hill. The hill above Machribeg is Cnoc Mor (big hill). Don't know if that helps your search Shona? :)

Cnoc Morain (hill of the bent grass) is on the C19 Southend - Macharioch road. Might that be the place your searching for?

There's an 1865 map at www.geo.nls.uk/maps

Thank you all for the answers - it's a big held to have three places to look at on the old maps.
