i grew up in Stewarton and was/still am fascinated by the bust that is above the shop.My Great Gran (dead now) told me it was not of Rabbie Burns and there was a song about it.

The bust was actually a man called Fleming who lived at Oatfield House.
I think the song was called Stewarton Corner, I remember it being sang at parties years ago.

I think that it was put there because he was a benefactor to the area, it was probably put there when the building was erected.

:D thank you both very much for the info. Was talking to my parents tonight (still living in stewarton) and they were amazed at the power and info this site has. :D
