I have tried to zoom in on these ...I don't have a scanner to enlarge the images...but quite interesting to see how buildings change over the years..

Hi Amron,

If scanned, those first two pics would probably stitch together and make a nice panorama that might enhance the nostalgic/historic appeal.

Which year were these taken?

J.D., your Canon seems to have blasted away the Wee Free Church. the Armour's bungalow, Flats in North Shore Street, the Laundrette (formally The Davaar Bar) Queen Street, Blacks shop and most of Spam Valley

2004?

I had a feeling it was a bit later 2005/2006 but interesting to see how the landscape develops.

You could be right. I am going by the crane where the old pool was and the start of the new one. It was officially opened on 16 June 2006 by Jack McConnell, building work having started in late spring 2004 using the site of the old swimming pool which closed in November 2000?

Realy enjoying looking at all the old photos Amron has put on. Hopefully more to come.
