On ebay at the moment is a medal from the Kintyre Agricultural Society, awarded in 1902 to Archd Mitchell, Clochkiel for a Clydesdale Filly.

The item description is "KINTYRE AGRICULTURAL SOC,Y 1902 SILVER CLYDESDALE MEDAL", item number: 370452306762. Its starting price is around £40. The auction closes on the evening of 11th November.

Hope this is of interest to someone in Kintyre. It would be nice if the medal came back to the area.

There was a local farmer called Archibald Mitchell who died in 1818. His family are the Springbank Mitchells and I just wondered if there might be a family connection there, especially with a Clydesdale being involved , as the barley would have been grown locally and taken to the distillery by horse and cart in those days.
