But she soon became disillusioned by the way her elder brother and his supporters were executing political opponents and embracing communism, she said.
"I began to become disenchanted when I saw so much injustice," Juanita Castro said...

Yeah, bitch...

Women’s Legal Rights in Cuba
The rights of women in Cuba are guaranteed by law, equality for women being
one of the fundamental measures taken to achieve social justice, the main
objective of the Revolution.
The Labour Code ensures equal rights and opportunities for women in all
fields of work. They are assured an equal salary for equal work.
All legal entitlements, such as those pertaining to health and safety in the
workplace, holiday, pension and sickness entitlements apply equally to
women and men. Social security benefits apply equally to women and men.
Special provision is made for single mothers, widows and divorcees.
All women in employment have the right to maternity leave before and
after the birth of the child.
Equality of access is ensured in both education and health provision.
The Civil and Family Codes explicitly give women equal status within the
home, family and marriage and with respect to their parental rights.
Women have the right to family planning with recourse to abortion
(legalised in 1965) if necessary.

She who fought against her sisters rights.

Have ever actually met someone who fled Castro's Cuba? I have, probably at least a dozen, I worked with a guy who paddled to Key West in a home-made canoe. You are talking pi$h.

Now remember your at your Grannies, and it's Sunday.

The reality of the matter.
1862 Population Census Cuba. Only ninety years before I was born.... ( a relatively short time in the scheme of things )
Cuba had a population of 1,4OO,000 with 370,000 Slaves - 27% of the population, where in chains. Sugar cane plantations claimed large swaths of the island, ( 150,000 acres ), Sugar kings ruled as an elite class.
So historically, that was Cuba 100 years ago - a society's wealth produced by means, that can be fairly described as being morally repugnant. Would you agree ?

Many people did leave Cuba ( perhaps the economic sanctions, deployed ruthlessly by your adoptive country, kicked in ) However those that did leave - where the wealthy and middle classes. I would hazard a guess, that attempting to have a balanced view on Cuba - is a rare if not extinct possibility, in your part of the world - How many anti Castro groups are there ?
One things for sure, they are pretty well founded - if you catch my drift.
Viva Cuba the Revolution - and yer Granny. :D

So she turned to the good guys, who murdered 200,000 civilians ( Hiroshima and Nagasaki ) only 14 years previously.
