What a bargain,sold for £25,000.

Among the other lots on sale were a Fender Telecaster guitar given by Eric Clapton, which fetched £15,000 .Does that mean that Mrs.T.is more popular than Clapton?

All proceeds went to charities.

What's so good about the old bag Bill?
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

Quote from daughter Carol Thatcher in paper today:

"I hope that the highest bidder knows that if he's into handbagging, he's got a weapon with quite a track record."

When I saw that ""The Iron Lady" was on TV tonight I decided to watch it, as I thought it would be interesting. It was indeed, but I had thought that it was more of a biographical film than it seems to be. I don't know what the Thatcher Family think of it, but I wasn't aware that the main portrayal of her is as a confused and lonely old woman with flashbacks and hallucinations, and the film seemed to give more emphasis to this than her life story and achievements. If this was a relative of mine I would see this as an insult. Maybe I'm missing the point of the film. :?

There is no way I would even want to watch this, I try most of the time to pretend she never existed despite now living in a country she dreamed about. However, if it does in fact focus on this, it reminds me of when Spitting Image used to make fun of the Alzheimer's-ridden Ronnie Reagan while he was still alive. I had no time for him either but I felt deeply uncomfortable at that.
I think though that a much better film will be made when the thirty year information disclosure block expires. Oh yes, THAT will be a much more interesting film about the evil stain on our history.

Still, Meryl Streep's (and Faith Brown's) imitation of the tyrant will always be better than Thatcher's imitation of a human being.

Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted
