The woman who gave the description which resulted in the latest artist impression lives next door but one from me, there has been a gaggle of journos outside her house all morning and we have had calls from the BBC asking us to put notes through their letterbox..

(Gail was on holiday at the same time and gave the description when she got back, this is very old news being dragged up to keep up the story profile.)

It has got to the stage with this saga that everything that you hear about it should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it is interesting that the McCanns are maintaining a high profile while more information is being leaked that shows them in a worse light than before. (if you can believe it)

The heartwarming story emanating today from California must give the parents of Madeline McCann a boost.

Eighteen years ago eleven year old Jaycee Lee Dugard was abducted from outside her home near Lake Tahoe in California. She was never seen again until today,when she walked into a police station and revealed her identity to the officer on duty.


Two suspects in the kidnapping have been taken into custody.
