I'm not sure if this news story is in Scotland or not:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/apr/09/paris-brown-stands-down-twitter
but here in Kent it is attracting a great deal of attention. Personally, I believe the fault lies with the unelected and unnecessary Police and Crime Commissioner (Did you get these in Scotland?) and it should be her resigning.
Nevertheless, I think it has thrown up an issue I feel strongly about: putting things on these social networking sites. I am always saying to young people how they must think constantly about what they are putting out there for any future employer to see. I also appreciate there is a very dark side to these where bullying is on the increase. Unbelievably, despite age settings, I know lots of primary-aged kids who go on Facebook and other social networking sites. I can't understand some people's idea of never leaving their computers in order to socialise or those who offer every single part of their lives including showing pics of their dinner or even those who see it as THE most important element of their lives! But this story above shows we must get over to youngsters how important it is to be really careful.
Or am I just an old fuddy-duddy again???
