Philpotts

Postby katya » Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:25 am

I was totally shocked to see the news of the true extent of the horror that befell the children of Mick and Mairead Philpott. A Channel 5 documentary last night detailed how they, and a friend, set fire to their home to try and set-up a former mistress, but just succeeded in killing 6 of their children.
They will be sentenced today after being found guilty of manslaughter yesterday, I sincerely hope that it will reflect the horrific outcome of their stupidity.

Pre-meditated.Should be murder not manslaughter.

Although the fire was pre-meditated, the 'plan' was that he would rescue the children from the burning building, therefore it was not the intention to kill.

I still think that the crime of arson is pre-meditated.Therefore any consequences of that act should follow that meaning.I understand the letter of the law but feel that it should be more flexible in a case like this one.Did they think of the consequences of their actions if it all went wrong?I very much doubt it.

I certainly don't disagree with you LR, and thankfully they can still be passed a life sentence with manslaughter.

They got off lightly, disgraceful sentencing. They should've been taken from the court to the nearest lamppost and up they go.
Oh well, Adolf Duncan Smith will be smiling, a total of nine off benefits, six of which won't breed future claimants.

Compare their sentences with this....

Something is very wrong.

Bit below the belt that, they were innocent children, who are you to judge what lay ahead for them!!

I know quite a few people who's parents have been on benefits who have went on and created a brilliant career for themselves.
