A police officer is claiming compensation from a garage owner, after injuring herself tripping over a kerb.
I hope the judge awards her £20 so she can get her eyes tested.

They will be insisting on Risk Assessments to be done next before they answer any calls.
Can we expect firemen to claim if they get a burnt hand ?

Pete.

I work for a local authority and have spent months hoping to find a recently washed floor without a warning sign.
I kid you not I will hit the ground, screaming in agony as fast as Luis Saurz in a penalty box.
Luvvly jubbly.

Gizmo I can fully understand your point of view, after reading of the millions paid to teachers in 2012.

"Teachers have won record damages in the past year after a spate of assaults and accidents in the classroom.

Figures disclosed by the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers today show they netted £15, 610, 924 in compensation – a 25 per cent increase on the previous year’s figure.

If the compensation deals secured by the three biggest teachers' organisations are added together, the figure is likely to exceed £30m."

One of the cases highlighted is....." a teacher who slipped on some water won £6,000 damages but his employers claimed he spilt it himself."

There's me thinking that being a police officer was a lot more dangerous than being a teacher.Just shows how wrong you can be.

 I really enjoyed reading that, thanks! The thread was about POLICE claiming (more than £20m last year) and then we get stories about teachers, that is, POLICE who are paid far more than teachers to face danger and who are equipped to face that very danger as opposed to schoolteachers who have to face mounting cases of assault every day who haven't got so much of a paper truncheon with which to protect themselves.

But you're right, let's leave the poor polis alone. NURSES! Let's trawl the Net and find how many millions they claim every year when they're trying to do their job and get assaulted most weekend nights.

No, that's silly, only a pillock would do that, let's not.

I see the same policewoman is now sueing the police force she`s with over an accident in a patrol car last year, in which she hurt her knee. She seems to be causing her employers a fair bit of embarrassment.

I wish people would take more care in reading peoples posts before going into well rehearsed rants.

My reply to Gizmo's post...........

As this article was only in the news a week past Friday,I thought it relevant to the discussion.

As far as I am aware each forum member has the right to post their views, even when they might not be in agreement with you.
