Shameful

Postby Martin » Sat Mar 23, 2013 3:48 pm

I nicked this from This Is Cornwall.

“"Camborne, Pool and Redruth Food Bank appeals for help after running out of stock"

" Barclays investment boss Rich Ricci lands £18 million windfall as bank dishes out £40million to nine top execs"

•Barclays executive Rich Ricci was also given a £6m bonus last month

•Nine executives get a total of £40m in share awards on Budget day--------------

Welcome to Tory Britain 2013.”

it's the world we live in, nobody gives two hoots, we now live in a banana republic. Grab everything you can, fill your boots and lie through your teeth about it.welcome to Great Britain 2013, a proud Conservative domain, Neil Kinnock might have been a bit of a Muppet but his words about this were worryingly prophetic.these were his words from 1983,he was of course talking about Thatcher. But those of us who believed, knew he was talking about conservatives in general.

I warn you. I warn you that you will have pain – when healing and relief depend upon payment. I warn you that you will have ignorance – when talents are untended and wits are wasted, when learning is a privilege and not a right. I warn you that you will have poverty – when pensions slip and benefits are whittled away by a government that won’t pay in an economy that can't pay. I warn you that you will be cold – when fuel charges are used as a tax system that the rich don't notice and the poor can't afford.
I warn you that you must not expect work – when many cannot spend, more will not be able to earn. When they don't earn, they don't spend. When they don't spend, work dies. I warn you not to go into the streets alone after dark or into the streets in large crowds of protest in the light. I warn you that you will be quiet – when the curfew of fear and the gibbet of unemployment make you obedient. I warn you that you will have defence of a sort – with a risk and at a price that passes all understanding. I warn you that you will be home-bound – when fares and transport bills kill leisure and lock you up. I warn you that you will borrow less – when credit, loans, mortgages and easy payments are refused to people on your melting income.
If Margaret Thatcher wins on Thursday, I warn you not to be ordinary. I warn you not to be young. I warn you not to fall ill. I warn you not to get old.

anyone reading these words today, cannot help but be moved by how apt they are.

Thank you for posting that Four Eyes, very apt indeed. I practically wept reading it. Frightening - and yes, those that voted them in got the government they deserved.

Fairs fair GG.
Calaghans Govt, power cuts, dead unburied, rubbish piled on the streets.
Thatchers Govt, More strikes, no such thing as society etc
Majors Govt, cant remember him doing anything except Edwina
Blairs Govt, Lies, lies and more lies. More Tory than Major. Corruption and more lies
Browns Govt, Lies, corruption and gross inefficiency
Current Govt (cant remember his name) Where do you start.

Christ I nearly started weeping thinking of it. Who voted this lot in. Is there an alternative?
Do we always get the Govt we deserve?
I blame the Mail readers.

Yep, they're all a bunch of lying, hypocritical, greedy bandits. And there is NO alternative. :(

But I still say the evil began with the old witch . . .

Of course there is GG (I appreciate you don't live here though).

However, until we put ourselves in a position where the above cycle of Lab Con Lab Con Goverments at Westminster no longer affects us, we are have no right to complain (and by then we won't need to).

Scotland voted exactly the same way at the 2005 and 2010 General Elections but ended up with a different Goverment :? - the only seat that changed hands was Glasgow East, which went back to Labour after John Mason has taken it in the by-election mid term.

Where is the logic in that? Our votes do not matter in a UK context.
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

You see Hume, I would argue that you do because by having a Scottish Parliament you are in a much better position than us down here. I would LOVE free prescriptions (my 3 yesterday cost me over £23 :<> ) and OMG it would be great if my kids didn't have to pay NINE GRAND A YEAR for their university fees and that's just a start. Damn well RIGHT after Scotland had to go cap in hand to Westminster for so long but this IS an alternative up there.

I worked in a house the other week where the tenant was an elderly German lady. She told me in all seriousness "Hitler was not all bad, he did a lot of good for Germany" :<>

Phew! I can sleep soundly tonight as I have learned tonight the state benefits system works brilliantly for some. The Queen today was given a 16% rise which means another £5million, up to £36million. :<> Oh yes, worth every penny of our taxes that is, not a bleeding insult at all!! Yep, we are all in this together aren't we?

weird isn't it, how a bunch of scroungers who have never done a day's work in their lives, live in a house provided by the taxpayer, whose children are regularly seen misbehaving, drinking too much etc etc. Who don't do too bad a job of looking like characters from "shameless" themselves, seem to have slipped below the radar. I think Lizzie is living in a house with too many bedrooms, perhaps IDS should start asking questions about how benefits are paying for their lifestyle. But then that won't happen any time soon. Because we live in a system in which the poor are hounded and the rich are given tax breaks. They get away with it because the majority of us don't realise what's actually happening, few that do are happy to put up with it, the ones who stand up against it are classed as conspiracy theorists and cranks, so the circus rolls on.
