I read The Daily Mail and I am well acquainted with the fact that those on benefits are draining us all dry. I say continue to punish people if they are poor!
Who the Hell cares if parents with kids in the armed forces away on duty will have to pay the bedroom tax? Or children at university who stay in halls but their home is at their parents' house where they return every weekend? Or the disabled who have to have carers staying over at times, or have so much equipment that the spare bedroom is actually a storage area for the equipment? Or grandparents who care for children whilst their parents are working who might have to have the kids overnight sometimes? Or foster carers who have to have a spare room otherwise they cannot be foster parents? The list goes on but I say attack them all!

Both the pasty tax and now this bedroom tax are what I voted for and don't deny there were millions like me!! :<>

Speaking as someone who is an unfortunate 'victim' of these benefit cuts I can assure everyone that not everyone lives the life of luxury as IDS and the rest of his cronies like to keep insisting are the drain on our society.
I had open heart surgery in 2008, major complications followed and I was in Intensive care for 10 days
I have had 3 major operations since then, one of them resulted in the loss of half of my digestive system

Move on to 2011
My wife suffered a heart attack at work, was rushed to the nearest Heart Specialist hospital and had stents fitted into her arteries, 4 weeks later suffers a stroke and is again taken to hospital.
2012 due to her walking problems they discover she has Type 1 dabietes and further tests reveal that she has severe blood flow problems through her arteries in her legs.

I am only posting this just to prove that not everyone on benefits are scroungers/deadlegs ...... at least we have paid into a system all our working time and expected that it would support us when needed most, how wrong can you be. You need to jump through hoops just to get get basic allowance, you are treated like scum from the JobCenter Staff, one of which suggested my wife hadn't done enough to look for work two weeks after a heart attack

I could go on and on about our fight for basic benefits, but I won't bore you with that .......... All I will say is that I just hope nobody should have to go through what we have just to get what you are entitled to, and when I say entitled to I mean paid into ............ like an insurance contract, hang on, is that not what it is called, National Insurance ? Has anyone ever seen the terms and conditions for paying into this contract ?

I forgot to add that I hope Ian Duncan Smith dies a very slow a painfull death, infact make it a very sudden but painfull death, because he is the most obnoxious and arrogant prat I have ever heard !!!!!

Pete.

IDS is a prime example of the "let them eat cake" brigade.

I was going to say "Tory" let them eat cake brigade, but realised that IDS is a one off and not all supporteers of the Tory party are like this.

This man was an abject failure as leader of his party, and when he was deposed he should have shuffled off into obscurity, instead of which he is now the thorn in the flesh of people like yourself who are trying to survive against a system that presupposes that everyone is a criminal, when in fact, there are so many sitting in the House of Commons as MPs who have abused the expenses system and should have been prosecuted. It has never been acceptably explained why this has never happened.

Like you, I have never understood why it is called "National Insurance", which implies that you can make a claim after you have paid your premiums, but if you do, you are called a scrounger.

The connections that IDS has to Scotland are a cause for national embarrasment, but may be ameliorated somewhat by the fact that he also has Japanese ancestry. :<>

I know this has nothing to do with the bedroom tax, but it probably ties in with cases like odds.

See, I get really angry at these unfair practices and stupid, cruel ideas but then I read the last 3 posts and all I feel is an incredible sadness.
