My understanding is that oil industry was developed by the UK, and I think we would be despised for the source of our riches, if we were to be awarded all the oil money.

As was the nuclear industry. However we have already heard noises coming out of Sellfield telling us that, if we chose independance, all our nuclear waste would have to be returned to us. We'd also be expect to foot the bill for the new facilities required for housing Trident. These are all issues that would need to be brought into the debate.

Tragically that's the kind of purile, ill-informed nonsense the debate has consisted of to-date.

See, I don't see it like that at all. It's just a laugh. Surely the jibe about folk buying Plymouth gin instead of whisky gave that clue? Lighten up Sheik and let's keep the sense of humour for which we're so famous.

Yes, but also the type of comments that might make a fair few undecideds vote Yes. The more of these articles the better. Same type of comments you get at the bottom of articles like the one you linked at the start of the topic about the survey.

That and the patronising interviews on the BBC like Paxman last night on Newsnight, comparing us to Zimbabwe and Dimbleby on QT.
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

The Paxman interview was terrible.

Honestly, questions like "How will you get the gold to Scotland, will it be on a train?" He's getting paid in excess of £1m a year for that level of questioning!

I would agree with you Hume, Paxman probably added quite a few voters to the Yes camp last night!
