Here we have a celebrity who has been caught doing something that happens every day, and we have a media frenzy which I feel is highly inappropriate, and the only purpose it would appear to serve is to further humiliate him.
Quite apart from that, we have discussions and opinions from various "experts" on television attempting to speculate as to what made him do this, and in some way excuse him and turn him into a victim rather than a perpetrator.
If your average person in the street is caught doing this, they are prosecuted, vilified and treated as if they are the scum of the earth, irrespective of the reasons why they did it.
Is it one standard for ordinary folk and another for celebrities?
