No it was me. Anyway back to the party, there was around 25 people there, all very laid back - three of these were servants. To my surprise the furniture was very modern ( quiet and expensive ) they have taste. Afghan rugs covered the wooden and slate floor, open plan. I noticed a copy of the TV Times in the magazine rack, beside the huge open fireplace.
On either side of the blazing fire, they had a pile of wood, and one of peat. A very friendly guy, introduced himself as Colonel Hector McTavish, of the Coldstream Guards. The unmistakable sound of Oasis drifted from a far corner, this part of the room had been turned into a den, with a large TV, pool table and bar. Cigarette smoke hung thick in the air, which helped me relax a wee bit. ( mind you I did raise a few eyebrows, when I made a roll up ) after all I was part of the evenings entertainment.

Its OK mate, he obviously had done his homework, recognising my own far superior royal lineage. :D

Donnchadh

1024 A.D.

Son of Brian Boru (173) and Gormflaeth ingen Murchada MacFinn. Only two of Brian Bórú's sons survived the battle of Clontarf; Donnchadh and Tadhg. However in 1023 Donnchadh had Tadhg killed and he became King of Mumhain and in 1024 he also became Ard Rí. Donnchadh's reign is described here: "He enacted salutory laws, sternly repressed robbery, caused the Sabbath to be observed". In his old age he went on a pilgrimage to Rome and died there.

Conchobar mac Donnchada (or Conchobar mac Donnchado) was High-King of Ireland with opposition (rí Érenn co fressabra) between 819 and 833.[1] Conchobar was the son of Donnchad Midi, high-king of Ireland (733–797); his mother was Fuirseach, a noblewoman of the Dál nAraidi. Conchobar married Land, daughter of the former High-King Áed Oirdnide. They had a son named Atrí, who became a cleric at Armagh, as well as three other sons, Cathal, Eochócan, and Cináed.[2]

Conchobar appears as a historical figure for the first time when, in the year 802, the high-king Áed Oirdnide mac Néill of Cenél nÉogain, Conchobar's brother-in-law, portioned out the lordship of Clann Cholmáin between Conchobar and Ailill. Ailill was Conchobar's brother, but in the following year at Rathconnell, Conchobar killed his brother to take the whole lordship for himself.[3] Only five years later Conchobar, allied now with the king of Connaught, campaigned for the High-Kingship. He met and defeated his former patron Áed Oirdnide, but it was not until Áed's death in 819 that Conchobar was recognized as High-King. :D
